Bullying Awareness Week 2021 Canada Week tegen Pesten

Bullying Awareness Week is a time to focus on bullying in all its forms, and explore new ways of addressing this social issue. There is no place for bullying in our schools.

Bullying is a repeated and hostile or demeaning behaviour intended to cause harm, fear or distress, including psychological harm or harm to a person's reputation. It often involves an imbalance of social or physical power. Recognize the warning signs.

Ongoing bullying prevention efforts include awareness, education and outreach solutions, supported by a range of community agencies and partners. When we know how to safely intervene and build healthy relationships, our schools, workplaces and communities become safer and more accepting.

Check out these CBE and Alberta government resources to learn more about bullying awareness, prevention and support.

Staff, students or parents who require help or information regarding bullying or abuse can call trained staff 24 hours, 7 days a week on the Bullying Helpline at 1‑888‑456‑2323 or chat online from noon to 8 p.m. at alberta.ca/bullying-find-supports.aspx.
